Oregon BEST connects Oregon businesses and university researchers with funding and support to accelerate clean technology research and move products to market. We make strategic investments that leverage additional federal, foundation, and industry funding. We also link Oregon businesses and our Member Researchers to external funding opportunities from government and private sources. Funding opportunities include:
University Research Funding
We offer funds to partner universities to further the development of clean technology with a high potential for commercialization. Our funding is often combined with funds from other sources, such as SBIR/STTR grants, and is provided to technology projects that could serve as the foundation for successful Oregon university spin-outs. If you are a student or faculty researcher at one of our four partner universities* and would like to learn more about this type of funding support, contact Katie Klos, Manager of University Programs at katie.klos(at)oregonbest.org.
*Partner universities: Oregon Institute of Technology, University of Oregon, Portland State University, Oregon State University
Oregon BEST provides early-stage investments to compelling collaborations between a small Oregon business and at least one of our partner universities. The investments are designed to bridge the gap between traditional research and development (R&D) funding and private investment.
SBIR/STTR Support Center
Oregon BEST offers no-cost assistance to small businesses applying to the federal SBIR/STTR programs for research and development funding.
