Every September, the cleantech community gathers for Oregon BEST FEST. As the Pacific Northwest’s premier cleantech innovation conference, the event attracts hundreds of university researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, and others. They convene to envision, build, and accelerate solutions to environmental challenges that deliver prosperity throughout Oregon.

Oregon BEST funding helps secure $2.1M ARPA-E grant for startup developing a nontoxic flow battery that slashes energy storage costs by 90 percent.
Oregon BEST funds are helping electric vehicle maker Arcimoto team with Oregon Tech on a battery pack that could lead to cheaper, longer-life batteries.
Commercialization funds from Oregon BEST and the PDC are helping Oregon startup HoneyComb Corp. work with OSU researchers to test a UAS that helps farmers and foresters.

Oregon BEST funding is helping a UO startup test a wireless sensor that detects nitrates in soils and could cut fertilizer use by 30 percent while reducing pollutants in runoff.
This Funding Opportunity Announcement is intended to provide rapid support to revolutionary applied energy research (Studies) that may lead to new ARPA-E programs to develop transformational and disruptive energy technologies. Studies are defined as single-phase efforts of durations less than 12 months and cost less than $500,000. Awards will be issued through Grants.

Puralytics, an Oregon BEST Company, is developing solar-activated "lily pads" that float just below the surface and tap solar energy to pre-treat stormwater runoff, helping reduce overflow situations at water treatment facilities.
