Every September, the cleantech community gathers for Oregon BEST FEST. As the Pacific Northwest’s premier cleantech innovation conference, the event attracts hundreds of university researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, and others. They convene to envision, build, and accelerate solutions to environmental challenges that deliver prosperity throughout Oregon.

Oregon BEST brings people together to connect and innovate. We nurture a broad-based network of partners that include our Member Faculty, entrepreneurs, startups, businesses of all sizes, industry groups, strategic and venture investors, and many like-minded organizations. Working together we have impact beyond our scale.
The U.S. Dept. of Energy has released its fall Phase I SBIR/STTR solicitation, which includes numerous funding opportunities for small technology companies and university researchers in the areas of clean energy and sustainability. Applications will be accepted between November 24, 2014 and February 3, 2015. Oregon BEST provides free SBIR/STTR proposal assistance to qualifying Oregon companies through our SBIR/STTR Support Center.
Oregon BEST Company, Lucid Energy, is seeking applicants to fill the position of Director of Engineering.
Energy Storage Systems, won the $135,000 first place prize at the Seattle Angel Conference on Wednesday, beating out five other finalists. The 10-person company helps its customers reduce electricity costs and minimize the impact of power outages by using an iron electrolyte with a patented flow cell design.
Oregon BEST funding advances use of biochar for carbon sequestration, and for applications in ag, forestry and environmental remediation.
